Susan M. Deters

Sue Deters, age 81 of Hudsonville, MI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at her home, with her family by her side, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Helen Podhola; son, Jim Deters; brothers Dale and Philli Podhola. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donnes; daughter, Carrie (Kurt) Mingerink; daughter-in-law, Susan Deters; grandchildren Brandon (Jessica) Mingerink, Kevin (Paige) Mingerink, Sara (Michael) Herweyer, Andrew Deters, Elli Deters; and great-granddaughter, Brynlee Mingerink and baby boy Mingerink on the way; siblings Michael Podhola and Maryse (Greg) Abaloz; and many extended family and friends.

Sue enjoyed spending time with her family and anyone who knew her would agree she had the "gift of gab." She also enjoyed taking on various adventures with Don such as, boating, traveling in their motorhome, and helping take care of their horse, CJ. Sue loved her winters in Naples, Florida where she spent time playing Mahjong and participating in water aerobics. Back home in Michigan, she found joy sitting in her sunroom watching goldfinches on her bird feeders. Sue always had an impact on those around her and she will be greatly missed.
