Shirley Jean Goorhouse, age 85, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus, with her husband by her side, on December 11, 2022. She was born May 12, 1937 in St. Anthony, Idaho. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Dale, who was a faithful and loving husband; children Dan (Chris), Shelley (Tim) Bauer, and Tammy (Jeff) Nuberg. Shirley will also be lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren Melissa, Jordan, Adam, Brandon, Jonathan, Tyler, Andrew, Erika, Alicia, Alec, and Ana. She was blessed to have 17 great-grandchildren, with another on the way!
Shirley struggled with Alzheimer’s the last few years of her life, however, she knew everyone’s names including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved music and dancing, as well as traveling with Dale and spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her sisters Jackie Lemke, Pamela Gehl, and Sandy (Mike) Reed. She left behind many nephews, nieces, and friends too.
She was reminded that Jesus, her son Dale, her mother, along with many family and friends, were waiting for her to join the celebration in Heaven as we celebrate the birth of our King. What a glorious reunion. She’s finally home!
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Psalms 116:15)
