Sharon Ferris, age 83, went home to be with her Lord Monday, September 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ferris Sr.; son-in-law, Brian Deacon; granddaughter, Rachelle Deacon; and siblings Gerri Zudweg and Lyle De Meester. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her children James (Kara) Ferris Jr., Kim Deacon, Michelle (Brett) Deacon; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Sharon loved to be by the water, whether it was Gun Lake when the kids were young or Holland and Florida as life went on. She was enamored with her grandkids, keeping up on all their activities. Her favorite hobby was shopping, not always buying, but always shopping. Sharon spent much of her life investing in her church. She gave of her time, talent, and resources in many different areas of the ministry. Sharon was a faithful employee of the church in various respects for over 31 years, still working two days a week in the accounting department until God called her home.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m., at Grand Rapids First – Prayer Chapel, 2100 44th St. SW, Wyoming, Michigan.
