Patricia J. Healey, age 88 of Jenison, passed away November 2, 2021. She was born in Palmerton, PA March 31, 1933 to Sultan and Arlene Burocy. She was preceded in death this past June by her husband, James. She is survived by her children Kenneth (Pamela), William (Erny), Lisa Postma (Dave), and Stewart. Also, surviving her are six grandchildren Aubrey Healey (Tyler), Jamie Morningstar (Marc), Mark (Julia), Jodie Vander Meer (Matthew), Stefanie Dittmer (Travis), Holly Postma (Ian); and three great-grandchildren.
After graduation from East Stroudsburg State University, she taught third grade in Toms River, NJ where she met Jim Healey, the love of her life. After their marriage June 16, 1956, she taught two more years in Kingston, NY until their first child was born. After the children were in school, she began working with Jim in the family business, Handicomp, retiring in the late 1990s. Pat was involved in the sports and activities in which her children and grandchildren participated - attending as well as coaching. She was also active in church, serving on committees as well as teaching Sunday school.
She and Jim traveled extensively with the business and many of their trips were golf related. One of the highlights of their traveling adventures was their CanAmAthon (2005) in which they played 18 holes of golf for 61 continuous days, playing in all 50 states, Washington DC, and all ten Canadian provinces. Being baseball fans, they also achieved a goal of seeing the Detroit Tigers play in every major league stadium (29 other teams), which they completed in 2015.
There will be visitation from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
