Larry Engelsman

John Lawrence “Larry” Engelsman, age 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, February 25, 2024 while surrounded by his family. Larry loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He loved playing golf and baseball. Larry was an avid fan of Michigan football - making sure to watch every game - and attended many games at “The Big House.” He also enjoyed watching Tiger baseball and made many trips to Tiger Stadium and Comerica Park. By trade, Larry worked as a tax preparer for over 60 years. He cherished his faith in Christ and loved his Lord.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Karen (nee Vrana) Engelsman; children Michael (Amy) Engelsman, Gregory Engelsman, Michelle (Ken) Ring; grandchildren Alex, Ana, Ethan, Cameron; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents John and Mildred Engelsman and sister, Karen Duimstra.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
