John Colin McKay, born May 19, 1948, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, November 8, 2024 after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer due to Agent Orange. He fought the good fight, but is now at peace in the arms of Jesus. John was a Vietnam Vet who considered it an honor and privilege to serve his country. In his later years he was primarily a car salesman, but throughout his lifetime he wore many “sales” hats.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Thais McKay. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 19 years, Mari; his blended family and many friends including the “Bernies” gang.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to service. In honor of John, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lacks Cancer Center, Pinky’s Palace, or Wounded Warrior Project. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
