James R. Scoville, age 86 of Grandville, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Hazen and Katherine Scoville; and sisters Sara “Sal” Sweeney and Mary Estes. He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Julie (Dan) Webb; sons Jim (Keri) Scoville, Dan (Bridget) Scoville; grandchildren Matt (Lisa) Webb, Rachael (Mitch) Kneibel, Tyler Webb, Alyssa (Chris) Corder, Grace Scoville, Olivia Scoville, Zoe Scoville; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Primebank as a Senior Vice President. He was passionate about his family and many friends, and he loved being a grandpa. Jim also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling. He was an avid follower of Grandville High School Athletics, and served as an athletic booster for many years.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), with visitation one hour prior the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Grandville United Methodist Church, or Grandville Athletics.
