Hal Berrier, age 84, went to be with Jesus Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was born in Three Rivers, Michigan November 14, 1939, the son of Chester and Mary (Mittank) Berrier. Hal was a 1957 graduate of Hartford City High School in Hartford City, Indiana. He went on to an apprentice program with General Electric and became an industrial engineer. Most of his career was spent at Steelcase as a plant supervisor, from which he retired in 2002. After retirement, he delivered car parts for Grand Buick, faithfully volunteered for Love Inc. (now known as Love Your Neighbor), and ushered at his home church of Grand Rapids First. He loved playing basketball in the driveway with the grandkids and attending their many school activities and sporting events.
Hal is survived by his children Nancy (Glen) Boersen, Amy (Tom) Tsotsis, Brian (Christi) Berrier; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Berrier; parents; and sister, Karen.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Hal will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 9:30-10:15 a.m. prior to the service. In memory of Hal and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tri-Unity Christian School or Love Your Neighbor.
