PAHL - Derek William Pahl, age 24 of Phoenix, AZ formerly of Grandville, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2005. He now rests from his labors in the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ.
Derek was born on February 8, 1980 in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Grandville High School in 1998. He attended Michigan State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture. He also earned his Michigan Nursery Landscaping Professional Certification. Derek moved to Arizona and was teaching Special Education at Cloves C. Campbell Sr. Elementary School and pursuing his Masters in Education at Northern Arizona University. His family, friends, colleagues, professors, and students will dearly miss him.
Derek will be lovingly remembered by his mother and step-father, Vicky and Doug Diekman; father, Bill Pahl; fiancAC., Kimberly Kalsbeek; sister, Darci Pahl; grandparents, Gerald and Joyce Schroeder; step-brother, Douglas and Shannon Diekman; nephews, Bryce and Colin Diekman; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
A Memorial Service for Derek will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25th at the First Reformed Church of Grandville 3060 Wilson Ave.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel east building 4235 Prairie St. SW in Grandville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Michigan Anatomical Donation Program.
