David John Pullen, age 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Karen (VanDyken) Pullen; son, Steve (Sally) Pullen; daughter, Kristin (Charles) McLanis; grandchildren Noor, Ayah, and Noah Pullen; sister, Anne (Bob) Ellis; brothers- and sisters-in-law Richard VanDyken, Judy (Craig) Carpenter, Marcia (Robert) Cross; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dave was a proud graduate of South High School, Central Michigan University, and Michigan State University. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Karen, and grew his passion for sports, all of which would guide him throughout his life.
Dave was a dedicated educator and coach, committed to shaping the minds of his students and athletes. His love of coaching earned him a place in both the Michigan Baseball and Football Coaches Halls of Fame, but the real legacy he leaves behind is the impact he had on his students and players.
Dave was a man of faith and spent many years of his life devoted to his churches, where he always loved singing in the church choirs. His dedication to his faith was evident in his daily life, and he was always quick to offer a word of comfort and support to those in need.
Dave treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends. He was a proud family man who always put his loved ones first (except for baseball). His kind heart and fun-loving personality touched the lives of everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Although we grieve the loss of Dave, his legacy of love and faith will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him. We take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and reunited with loved ones who have passed before him.
