Carolyn was born and raised in Houghton, MI. She earned a teaching degree from the University of Michigan, which is where she met her husband Richard “Dick” Grover. They were happily married for 64 years, raising their family in Grandville, MI. Carolyn is survived by their four children Patsy, Rob, Rick and Mike; their spouses; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
Carolyn’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and having fun with her friends. She was a longtime member of the Altar Guild at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids and a hospice volunteer. Her amazing smile, sense of humor, humility, and kind way remained with her until her final day. Carolyn loved to say “Be Always Kind and Good” when she said good-bye and that will never be forgotten.
In the words of an old song, Carolyn believed… “I know Jesus and I talk to God and I remember this from when I was young. Faith, Hope, and Love are some good things He gave us and the greatest is Love.”
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
A family committal ceremony and interment will be held at Grandville Cemetery at a later date.
The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.
