Sandra Sue Moore, 78, of Grandview, Missouri passed away Friday, March 5, 2021. Born October 7, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri. She is survived by daughters Rhonda (husband James) of Belton, Missouri, Darla (husband Darin) of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons Thomas and Devin, sister Patty Moore; and brother-in-law Lonnie Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Kara Kopetsky.
She lived in the country most of her life. She had three children, her first (a son) died shortly after birth. She then had her girls, first Rhonda and then Darla. She felt blessed to have them and to be a stay at home mom. She loved being a mom.
She moved to a small farm outside of Raymore in 1974. Raised chickens and bobby calves. The bobby calves had to be bottle fed twice a day for 6 to 8 weeks. This took 5 to 6 hours a day. Besides this there was a huge garden and orchard she took care of. She canned most of what we needed. She even made ketchup. She made apple jelly and grape jelly.
She took care of the yard, fruit trees and garden. People always said our yard looked like a golf course. She took pride in whatever she did.
After the girls were grown she went to work for a food service company. She worked there until she retired. She moved to town in 2003. She said she really missed hearing the yips of the coyotes and the hoot of the owl. She loved the smell of fresh mowed hay.
She was blessed with three grandchildren whom she adored. She has gone to be with her oldest grandchild, so she is happy. She has missed her so.
She always said as long as you talk about things they did together she would live forever. She hopes her grandsons have happy memories with her. They gave her so much joy.
"My life was so good, I wish I could do it all over again. Thanks girls"
