Deborah Marie Van Brunt

Debbie Marie Van Brunt, age 63, passed away peacefully June 7, 2019. She was born January 14, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Richard and Therese Smith. She married her loving husband, R. G. Van Brunt September 17, 1993 who preceded her in death in 1999.

Debbie or “Granny” as her family and friends knew her, did not know a stranger. She loved to help others any way she could. She loved camping with her boys and her Angel. She also enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends. She shared her love for the beach with her great grand-daughter last summer in Panama City Beach, Florida where she cheered on her favorite girl at a national competition.

For many years she worked as a Bartender in the Grandview area and during the past few years as a caregiver to adults and youths with intellectual and developmental disabilities at MO Mentors. It suited her loving demeanor and enormous heart.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Monique and husband John, her grandsons Trevor (Courtney), Ruben (Haley), and Xavier (Cassie) and (David, Mike, Matt), her great grand-daughter Fallon, her mother Therese, her sisters Ginger, Linda, Diane and her husband Donnie, many nieces and nephews. Also, many additional children, grandchildren and patrons of the Grandview area. All of these she loved and cared for deeply. She is preceded in death by her father, sister, brother and her daughter’s father.

Family and friends are invited to attend Debbie’s visitation 6:00pm to 7:30pm, where all are welcome to come and go, on Saturday, June 15th. At 7:30 pm her loved ones and others are welcome to say a few words in her memory. The visitation will be held at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Rd, Grandview, MO 64030.
