Barbara Jane Meyer, 86, of Grandview, MO, passed away August 20, 2011, at home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 29, at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Rd. in Grandview. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Contributions suggested to the American Cancer Society or Community Blood Center. Barbara was born September 10, 1924, in Worcester, MA, to Richard and Lillian Kent Davidson. She was a registered nurse in New York. Barbara married her husband, Charles H Meyer, III, and they moved to this area in 1970. She worked at the Community Blood Bank in Kansas City for 17 years. After retiring she was a volunteer Nurse for the Young Marines. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother, Richard Kent Davidson. She is survived by sons, James M Meyer, Bartlesville, OK, Steven C Meyer, Raymore, MO; daughter, Susan J Meyer, Harrisonville MO; two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
