Sherry Diane Mulder

On May 21, 1983, Sherry married the loved of her life, Cliff Mulder. The couple who were dedicated to each other, spent 40 years together building a lifetime of memories.

A hard worker, Sherry was always busy. She worked in the lady’s department at Meijer, she owned her own house cleaning company and she was an Avon sales rep for over 40 years. When she wasn’t working, she was found tending to her countless house plants and beautiful gardens.

She loved being outside. Cliff and Sherry loved camping and traveled all over with their RV. Although, health conditions would eventually slow down the traveling, they found a permanent resting spot for their RV which quickly became their second home with extended family at Tyler Creek Golf Course and Campgrounds in Alto. Sherry was a lover of all animals, especially Rusty, her red toy poodle who was always attuned to her needs. She was also a member of PETA always wanting to make sure all creatures were treated properly.

Living with chronic pain, could have turned Sherry bitter and grumpy, instead she chose to always find joy in life, it also helped that she was quit feisty which gave her extra inner strength. Whether it was the little things in nature like a hummingbird or butterfly, or helping a customer find the right lipstick color, she found the beauty in the world. After discovering there was a need for a support group that addressed her health condition, with the help of Cliff, she started the RSDS/Chronic Pain Support Group of Grand Rapids. Sherry spent 25 years hosting and running the group, helping others find strength in knowing they were not going through this alone.

She was a woman of faith, and was an active member of the East Leonard Christian Reformed Church. She found peace in her years of bible study, and always made sure to highlight the passages that reminded her of the joy and goodness in life. As a wife of a veteran she was also a longtime active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 258.

Sherry is survived by: husband of 40 years, Cliff; her children: Cheryl (Jessee Nienhuis) Symko, Richard (Jodi Jenkins) Briggs, Bryan Mulder, and Brad Mulder; 8 grandchildren: James Briggs (Ashlyn), Alisha Briggs (Jacob), Richard (Beth) Briggs, Jordyn Briggs (Tarin), Gavin Briggs, Sierra Symko, Lynsey Mulder, and Drake Mulder; 6 great grandchildren-plus one on the way; and her siblings: Vicky Murphy, Ken Noorman, Pam Bruce plus many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Steve Rickey and David Noorman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to RSDSA, American Legion Auxiliary Post 258 or PETA.
