Caregiving was part of Mary Ann’s personality. It was a natural fit for her to become an RN working first at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit and then Mercy Health St. Mary’s in Grand Rapids in the ER.
A woman of faith, Mary Ann was a devoted Catholic. She attended Blessed Sacrament for many years. Mary Ann was a wife, mother, grandma and sister. Spending time with her grandchildren brought the greatest joy to her life; creating memories and stories with them was her favorite hobby.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Paul Dailey and Jennifer Smith; her grandchildren, Isabelle Dailey, Paul Dailey II, Owen Smith, and Abigail Smith; her sister, Elizabeth Anderson; her brother, Robert Packus; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William; her sister, Theresa Mosier; and her brother, Mark Packus.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament (2275 Diamond Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505) where the family will receive visitors beginning at 9:30 am. Burial next to her husband in St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City will take place at a later date.
