Lois Jean Walz, age 84, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. She was born on February 5, 1940 to Lester and Ingrid Schroeder in East Grand Rapids.
Lois was a graduate of the University of Michigan where she earned her Bachelor's in Education. She went to teach history at Creston High School for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and went on 20 cruises with her son, David, over the years. She was also an avid reader and a huge University of Michigan fan. She was a U of M season ticket holder and a member of the U of M Alumni club. Lois was very smart and family oriented. She will be deeply missed.
Lois was preceded in death by: husband, Jarvis Walz; son, David Walz; and parents, Lester and Ingrid Schroeder.
Lois is survived by: brother, Richard (Doris) Schroeder; nephew, Rich (Nena) Schroeder; niece, Robin (Dan) Witte; as well as, 5 great nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Lois' wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services are planned at this time.
