Chavez, Marshall Gregory 10/2/1960 - 7/27/2017 Grand Rapids Marshall Gregory "Greg" Chavez, age 56, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27. Greg was born in Grand Rapids on Oct. 2, 1960, to parents Marilyn (Booth) & Marshall Chavez. He was preceded in death by his father. Greg was a dedicated family man, community activist, passionate outdoorsman and avid sports lover. He was also a longtime GRPS employee. To know Greg meant you had an eternal friend. He is lovingly remembered by his cherished grandson Roland Chavez; son's, Neil and Ryan; Janet (Kinsey) Chavez - Greg's one True North; mother, Marilyn (Booth) Chavez; sister, Theresa (Bill) Plummer; brothers, Scott (Kristen) Chavez and Thomas (Sharon) Chavez; along with his much-loved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Services will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. NE 49505, on Fri. Aug. 4. Family visitation from 11 to 1, with service from 1-2. A Celebration of Life potluck will be from 4-10 at 2133 Johanna Ave., Wyoming 49509. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to nationalmssociety.org/mig.
