Genevieve F. Faski, aged 91, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at home in the company of her family. She was born in McKeesport, PA in the summer of 1926 to the late Walter and Victoria Lechtanski. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Stanley Faski and her brother Raymond Lechtanski. Surviving are her children; Geraldine (Thomas) Farley, Stanley (Kelly) Faski, Jr., and Christine (Kevin) Czubachowski. She also leaves 10 cherished grandchildren; Ryan, Bridie, Colin, Shea Farley and Michaela (Dan) Russo, Johnathan, Joseph and Daniel Faski, Grace and Adam Czubachowski as well as her sister Florence Marszalek, many nieces and nephews. Genevieve was an active member at St. Jude Catholic Church and Northview Senior Center. She enjoyed golfing, cooking, traveling and playing her accordion. Genevieve was an accomplished dancer and had taught traditional Polish dancing. Most of all, she will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Monday, July 9, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church, (1120 4 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525) with Rev. Tom Page as celebrant. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-8 pm at the Reyers North Valley Chapel and one hour prior to mass. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Genevieve’s family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Emmanuel Hospice and Visiting Angels for the compassionate care provided to their mother.
