Laura was born on October 14, 1969 in San Antonio Texas and grew up in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of Enrique and Guadalupe Elizando. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of family, friends carried her through 4 years of a valiant fight with colon cancer. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful out look of an optimistic future even through countless radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
Laura did not lose her battle with cancer. She lived graciously and courageously with it until the end. In many ways by inspiring and teaching us she won her battle in other very important ways. She was a wonderful role model right to the end.
A much loved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister . Laura is survived by her husband Miguel Figueroa . Children Steven and wife Elizabeth Gutierrez, Edward, Alexandra and Marcus Gutierrez. Grandchildren Karina Gutierrez, Laila Hamdan , Steven Gutierrez Jr. Parents Enrique and Guadalupe Elizondo. Siblings Enrique, Mario , Juanita Elizondo, Maria Oldfield and Maria Cortez. She is preceded in death by her brother Miguel Angel Elizondo. What a blessing it has been to have had her in our lives . She will greatly be missed by all her loved ones.
Her visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel at 733 Dalworth St Grand Prairie , TX 75052.on Sunday October 12, 2014 From 2:00 PM to 7 PM with rosary at 7 pm-8 :00 PM. Funeral Service will be at St. Mary of Carmel Catholic Church at 10 am with burial to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
