Helen V. McKinney

Helen McKinney, affectionately named by her grandchildren as "Maw Maw Mac" and then later as Granny Mac, or "GMac", passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024. She was born in Red Bay, Alabama on December 7, 1937. Granny Mac loved her family, and she enjoyed mowing her front lawn, working in her flower beds, relaxing on her porch, ironing clothes, cooking and baking for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Willis McKinney, parents, Charles and Maggie Elrod, brother, Bill Elrod, sister, Mary Joice Elrod, nephews, Brian Elrod, Jerry McKinney, and niece Martha McKinney.

She is survived by her children Anita (Darrell) Kirk, Cindy (Dennis) Balusek, Patrick (Jan) McKinney, and Charles (Isabel) McKinney, brother, Bobby Elrod, grandchildren, Connie Balusek, Curtis Balusek, Shawn McKinney, Samantha McKinney, Deanna McKinney, Elizabeth McKinney, nephews, Glenn (Carolyn) Elrod, Larry (Gail) Elrod, Donnis Elrod, Steve (Vickie) Elrod, David (Patti) McKinney, and nieces, Charlotte (Steve) Bates, Tammy (Ronnie) Tucker and Shirley (Jerry) Swalley.

Visitation and funeral service will both be at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home at 2951 South Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Noon.
