Vivian Rose Marvin was born in Indiana on March 1, 1923. She spent her childhood in South Los Angeles and graduated from George Washington High School. She went on to become a secretary for various government agencies. Vivian married the love of her life, Gilbert Marvin, on September 16, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She and Gilbert lived in Evergreen and Cedaredge, before settling in Grand Junction in 2005. Sadly, Gilbert passed away on September 4, 2012.
Vivian was known for her adventurous spirit, she loved traveling and experiencing new things. She was interested in fashion, and always wanted to look her best. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and entertaining. But nothing was more important to her than her family and her faith in God.
Vivian is survived by her children, Bruce (Tanya) Marvin of Grand Junction, and Carol (Gary) Fischer of Concord, California; her brother, Don Howe of Cave Junction, Oregon; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Martin Mortuary on Saturday, September 14 from 3-4 p.m., her funeral service will begin at 4:00. There will be a reception held at Lincoln Park in the Oak Shelter (south of the tennis courts) following the service.
