Funeral services will be held for Laura Mae Schmidt at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6th, 2023 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Burial will be at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
Laura Mae, a 46 year resident of Grand Junction, passed away on February 27th, 2023 at the age of 91. She was born to Harvey and Marguerite Lorimor on July 17th, 1931 in Collburn, Colorado. Laura Mae married Maurice Schmidt on August 4th, 1964, he proceeds her in death. She previously resided in Telluride, Colorado. She was a loyal daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. All that know her knew how kind, gentle and independent she was. A completely devoted lady to her family and such that she was extremely proud of all their accomplishments.
Her survivors include daughter Sharon Kaye Lain of Grand Junction, sons William “Bill” Harvey (Penny) Davis of Grand Junction and Dwight Clate (Rhena) Schmidt of Acworth, Georgia; stepdaughters Cheryl (Vic) Gallegos, Debbie (Mark) Coleman, Carolyn (Larry) English, all of Montrose: 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
