John Alon Hart (Jack) was born on August 30, 1936, to Harry and Dorothy Hart. He passed peacefully away at his home on September 1, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. He grew up in Michigan and had a very challenging childhood with a fire burning 40% of his body and his parents divorcing when he was 10. In 1958, he married his 9th grade sweetheart, Doris Bryson, and together they raised four children: Susan (Lonnie) Sale, Sheryl (Greg) Ferguson, Sandra (Alan) Rogers and John (Suzy) Hart. Jack had nine grandchildren: Megan, Melissa, Bryan, Taryn, Jared (decd.), Carsyn, Amy, Jacob and Jordan. Additionally, he had ten great-grandchildren.
In 1952, at age 17 with his mother’s signature, Jack joined the Army. He volunteered for three divisions: regular Army, Paratroopers and Special Forces. He was very proud of his Top-Secret Clearance. His jobs included medic, dog trainer, cook, and clerk/typist for a General in the War Room. Jack was honorably discharged in 1955.
When Jack came home from the Army, he married the love of his life, Doris in 1958 and started his family. If you had asked Jack about his greatest accomplishment in life, he would have told you his family.
Jack worked as an electronics engineer, salesman, in management, and owner/operator of a print shop. He got his pilot license in the 1970’s and loved flying his own plane. Jack could do almost anything he put his mind to. He was a true “jack of all trades”. He loved YouTubes and Google for learning.
His hobbies included hunting, camping, fishing, ham radio, gentleman farmer, and various building projects. He loved to watch old westerns and listen to all kinds of music.
Jack is survived by his wife, Doris, and his children and grandchildren. Services will be held at Loma Community Church on Friday, September 6th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in Jack’s name.
