Jeanne Dillon of Molina, CO passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving husband of 60 years and their two daughters. She was born Jeanne Frances Stevens in Bethel, CT to Archie L. Stevens and Olive F. Burlew. She was an active member of the Grassy Plain Fife and Drum Corp, and graduated from Bethel High School in 1961. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) E. Dillon. Their union began on November 7, 1964, and took them to Fort Bragg, NC during Dick's service in the US Army. Following their military journey, they settled in Danbury, CT, where their family expanded with the arrival of two daughters, Kim and Sandy.
In 1977, they moved to Collbran, CO, before settling in Molina. Jeanne worked at the Plateau Valley Nursing Home prior to joining the Plateau Valley School District's library and special needs program. She also dedicated a decade of her life volunteering on the Plateau Valley EMT Rescue Squad. Upon retirement, Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family, granddaughters, and beloved cats. She found peace in country living, feeding her hummingbirds and enjoying wildlife. She treasured her mornings on the porch, drinking coffee with Dick admiring the Battlements.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Olive Stevens, and her brother, Eddie Stevens. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dick Dillon; her sister, Janet Biermann (New Milford, CT); her sister-in-law, Peggy Stevens (Grand Junction, CO); her daughters, Kim (Gregg) Mueller (Fruita, CO) and Sandy (Jim) Yates (Molina, CO); and her cherished granddaughters, Amanda (Ryan) Stephens (Fruita, CO), Coty Yates (Columbia, MO), and Maddy Mueller (Denver, CO).
The family expresses profound gratitude to HopeWest for their compassionate care of Jeanne, our beloved Wife, Mom, and Nana. In lieu of flowers, donations to HopeWest are welcomed and appreciated.
Please join us in commemorating Jeanne's remarkable life at Molina Baptist Church on Saturday, March 23rd, at 11:00 AM.
