Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Sheldon; two sons, David of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kevin of Rosiclare, Illinois; one daughter, Karen Higuera of Grand Junction; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Janice Laverne Murphy
November 30, 1935 - September 11, 2014
Janice Laverne Murphy was born on November 30, 1935, in Noblesville, Indiana and was the second child and eldest daughter of Will Ross and Elizabeth Glover. She passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2014.
Her early childhood was spent in Noblesville, Indiana. In the early 1950's, her family settled in Englewood, Colorado where she graduated from Englewood High School. She excelled in bookkeeping and worked for Shwayder Brothers Luggage Company.
In 1953, she met the love of her life, Sheldon Murphy, and the rest was history. Throughout their journey together, they lived many places, but no matter where they landed, Janice was able to make her house a home. On September 10, 2014, Janice and Sheldon were able to celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Sheldon, three sisters, and one brother; her three children, Karen (Ronnie) Higuera of Grand Junction; David (Hilary) Murphy of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kevin (Brenda) Murphy of Rosiclare, Illinois. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Jana (Jeremiah) Boies; Nikki (Abe) Wilson; Kim (Vishal) Trivedi; Michael (Andrea) Murphy, and Andrew Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Corbin, and Anberlin Boies.
She dedicated her life to her family. Spending quality time with her grandchildren was her delight. Everyone will miss her wonderful smile, witty humor, and the love she showed to all those around her.
Memorial services will be held Monday, September 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at Canyon View Vineyard Chapel.
