Dr. Elizabeth Roseanna Pray

July 13, 1941 – June 26, 2024

Dr. Elizabeth Rosanna Pray ( née Hellings) known affectionately as Liz, passed away on June 26, 2024, at the age of 82 in Palisade, Colorado.

Born on July 13, 1941,in Fremont, Nebraska, she dedicated her life to serving others in her community through her rolls as a Chaplin at St. Mary’s Hospital and as a Minister at Koinonia.

Liz was a vibrant soul who cherished the outdoors. Her Passion for nature was evident in her volunteer work at the Colorado National Monument and her many outdoor hobbies. Liz’s profound love for theology fueled her lifelong commitment to helping others, guiding many through spiritual and personal growth.

She leaves behind a loving family, including Melissa Zimmerman, David Zimmerman , Shelby Zimmerman, Bronwen VanOrdstrand, David Hellings, Mary Jean Curlee. Liz was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William R. Pray, her daughter Jennifer VanOrdstrand and her parents , Mabel and Francis Hellings.

A service to celebrate Liz’s life will be held at Koinonia, located at 730 25 Road, Grand Junction CO. 81505, on July 24, 2024 at 10:30 am. The Callahan-Edfast Mortuary and Crematory at 2515 Patterson Rd, Grand Junction , Colorado 81505 is assisting the family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at alzfdn.org, a cause dear to Liz’s heart. Liz’s legacy of compassion and dedication to her faith and community will be remembered by all who knew her.
