Elizabeth was born in Las Animas, Colorado on December 10, 1921. Her parents, Hayward and Fern (Monhollon) Gall, were homesteaders near Las Animas. Hayward and Fern had 10 children, eight girls and two boys. During World War II, Elizabeth went to Seattle, Washington and became a “Rosie the Riveter”, reworking airplanes for the government. She married James C. Lancaster on July 25, 1942. Later in life, Elizabeth also worked in the laundry at Meeker Hospital. But being a homemaker brought her the most joy.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, James and Russell; her brother, Jerry Gall; six grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband James, who passed in 2004; her son, Bradley; seven sisters; and one brother.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Martin Mortuary.
