Curtis George Martin Jr., 74 of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on December 18, 2023. He was born on October 27, 1949, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Curtis, known as “Mr. Wilson” from the Dennis the Menace cartoon, was a grumpy old man who enjoyed his alone time.
Curtis was a devoted husband to his wife, Teddee Swain Martin, and a loving father to his daughter, Shonna Potts, and son, Eric Martin. He cherished his family deeply and leaves behind beautiful memories for them to hold onto.
After graduating from Grand Junction High School, Curtis served in the Army National Guard, where he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his country. His military associations were a source of pride for him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Curtis embarked on a successful career as a Locomotive Engineer with the Union Pacific Railroad. For 35 years, he dedicated himself to his work, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the county.
In his free time, Curtis indulged in his passion for Nascar racing. He enjoyed attending many races and was always thrilled by the speed and excitement on the track.
In accordance with Curtis’ wishes, there will be no services held at this time. However, for those who wish to honor his memory, contributions can be made to HopeWest, a charity that was close to his heart.
The funeral home assisting with the arrangements is Callahan Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colorado. They are dedicated to providing compassionate support to Curtis’ family during this difficult time
