Charline June Allen

Charline Allen, age 90, of Grand Junction, CO passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Western Slope Memory Care where she was exceptionally cared for. Charline was born Charline June Benson in 1933 up Parachute Creek; the third of seven children born to Charles and Ruth Benson. She graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1950 with her sister Marge and the two of them attended college in Ft. Collins, CO. She married Sonny Gibbons in 1952 who passed away in 1962. She then married her high school crush, Ron Allen, in 1982.

Charline was warm and kind and impacted everyone she knew in a positive way. She epitomized the warmth, kindness and support that is the Benson family. In Charline it was such a strong, powerful force that it is not gone now, this precious gift lives on in her grandchildren.

Charline was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ron Allen; her parents Charles and Ruth; sisters, Pamela Brock and Bobbi Wambolt; and her grandchild Reed.

She will be missed by her son, Scott Gibbons; daughter, Chardelle Busch; stepchildren Mary Fetcinko, Ronnie Allen, Mitch Allen and Lisa Murphy; brothers, Cade Benson and Greg Benson; sisters, Marge Lange and Helen Arnett; grandchildren, Margaux, Weston, Charisse, and Becca; 3 great grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews.

A memorial reception for Charline will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction, CO.
