Timothy Ray Blanchard, age 78, of Clarkston, Michigan passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, June 28, 2024. Tim was born in Pontiac, Michigan on March 1, 1946 to the late Raburn and Helen Blanchard.
At the young age of 16, Tim met the love of his life, Linda. They married five years later in Pontiac, Michigan and were married for 57 wonderful years. Tim loved his family. He found no greater joy than helping his family through hard times and celebrating the happy times. He began working at 10 delivering papers to help his parents make ends meet. At 16, he became a golf caddie and was awarded as an Honor Caddie until he turned 18 when he joined GM. He worked for GM for almost 45 years as a job setter until his retirement. Tim was proud of his Armenian heritage. He valued the food, culture, music and most importantly family values. He also learned how to play the Armenian drum. Tim was also a great story teller - often including animation and a joke to capture the audience. In his earlier years, Tim was very active in his High School band. He would play the drums in their concert band and drumline in the marching band. Continuing his passion for music and playing the drums, he and his brother Denny began a band. Together, they would perform at local and non local venues playing 50's and 60's music to encourage dancing and happy times. He loved the outdoors, hunting - especially pheasant hunting with their German Wirehaired Pointers and fishing in his younger years. In his later years, he loved driving around with family listening to music while looking for deer and other wildlife.
Tim was a wonderfully kind and compassionate man, he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Beverly (Todd) Ferguson; grandson, Anthony Brown; siblings: Dennis (Mary) Blanchard, Tyrone (Carol) Blanchard, Angela (Mark) Mueller; sister-in-law, Nancy Sue (Mohamad) Hamo, Pat (John) McGowan; special cousins: Pat Riley, Mike Riley, Sherri Minard; nieces and nephews: Jason, Jen, Richie, Ben, Becky, and their families; step brother-in-law, Randy Thompson and children: Michelle, Jennifer, Helen, Andrew; many other cousins who he deeply loved; and his two comforting canine companions Maksim and Alyse.
