Michael James Harris

HARRIS, Michael James – age 68 of Flint, MI passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, MI. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 2PM-4PM and again from 6PM-8PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 12:30PM at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Rd. Grand Blanc, MI with one hour of visitation prior. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Michael was born in Flint, MI on September 17, 1949 to the late James and Luella (Duso) Harris. He graduated from St. John Vianney Catholic High School. Michael enlisted in the United States Army with service from 1966-1969. He was a Vietnam Veteran, with service there during the 1968 Tet Offensive. Michael worked for Kmart for 28 years and later worked for Bueche’s in Flushing for several years. He enjoyed sports of all kinds ranging from ice skating, skiing, golfing, bowling, hockey, softball and many more. Michael loved animals (especially his cats) and music of all kinds. Surviving are his siblings, Timothy Harris, Delena Harris, Leila Harris, Laurel (Dan) Prieur, and Bryan Harris; nephew, James; nieces, Monica and Sarah; and several great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, those desiring, may make contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
