November 12,1922 - January 26, 2022.
Mary was born to the late Paul and Etta (Harding) Siewert in Estey, Michigan. The oldest of three, a farm girl (who since the age of seven), always dreamed of becoming a nurse. After graduating from Cedar Lake Academy High School, Mary worked her way through Madison College to fulfill her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse.
Mary's career brought her to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she met her future husband, Orville, when he was the taxi driver that took Mary to a patient's home to deliver twins. Mary and Orville later married and the union of 25 years bore them six children.
Mary then moved to Flint, Michigan and did private duty nursing in addition to 25 years at Hurley Medical Center. She was a devoted member of South Flint SDA Church for over 50 years and lived a life of selfless service, often thought of as "Mother Theresa" of her church. She will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by her children: Ilene Belcher, Yvonne (Michael) Chaffin, Edwin (Annette) Pereault, Kurt Pereault, and Zoe (Dean) Scott; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Etta (Harding) Siewert; siblings: Don and Everette; husband, Orville; son, David; granddaughter, Tonya; and a great -great-granddaughter Laylah.
The family and guests will honor Mary at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at South Flint SDA Church, 1467 E. Maple Ave., Burton, Michigan.
