LANGLEY, David H. – passed away at home on January 20, 2017 at the age of 91. David was born on June 5, 1925 in Leachville, Arkansas the son of the late Arnold and Savannah (Culp) Langley. David served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII, transporting and supplying troops on Iwo Jima. David married Virginia Hayes on July 7, 1946 in Campbell, Missouri. After 65 years of marriage, Virginia died 5 years ago to the day of David's passing. David managed horse and cattle farms around the Oakland County area and retired after 25 years in the Pontiac School system. His love of animals and farming kept him busy since retiring. Neighbors, friends and family were provided with fresh eggs and vegetables from his large garden. He is survived by sons Larry Joe (Terrilee) Langley Jerry Lee Langley, and Steven Wayne (Teri) Langley, grandchildren Matthew (Kelli) Langley, Nathaniel Langley, Kyle (Shelly) Thompson, Kory (Christine) Thompson, Anthony Langley, Jason Langley, and Thomas Langley, 12 great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by Virginia, many siblings and granddaughter Ashley Langley. David will be cremated and there will be grave side memorial service this spring at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
