Carol was a talented singer, pianist, poet, and cook! Appropriately named, she loved to sing, and lended her voice to plays, jazz nightclubs, and church choirs. Writing poetry often kept her up until the early morning hours, working towards her dream of one day publishing a book of her poetry. Evident by her hundreds of poems, which were often embellished with exclamation marks and smiley faces; it was her passion, self-expression, and her way of praising the Lord!!! She enjoyed gardening, making meals from the food she and her husband grew, and sharing the bounty with those she loved!!
In 1955, Carol graduated from Clio High School where she participated in cheerleading and theater, and made life-long friends!! Later, she continued her education, and love for music, by working towards a master’s degree in Music Therapy at Michigan State College. She worked for the Royal Typewriter Company, and the school systems where she was always the favorite playground aide!
During college, Carol met William McCubbin Jr. They married and had two children. Later in life, Carol met Ron Craig, and they married in 1983. Together they operated the Ron Craig Plumbing and Heating business in Flint until they retired. They loved and supported their combined family so beautifully. Family was her pride and joy! Carol and Ron were married for 32 years until he passed away in 2016. She was his loving caretaker, always by his side, until his final breath. Being poetic until the very end, Carol joined her husband in heaven on his birthday!!!
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Schoeppach; father, Melvin Schoeppach; husband, Ronald Craig; step-son, Paul Craig; and nephew Keith Martineau.
