Violet Rose Hutchinson

She was born in Kingston, Jamaica on March 12th, 1925 to her late parents, Fernandez & Mobel (Hall) Taylor. She met her adoring husband, Herbert, at church, who fell in love with her at first sight. They married December 5th, 1948 and just celebrated 66 happy years together.

Violet delighted in playing the piano & organ at church and at home. She has been a member of the North Orlando Seventh Day Adventist Church & was devoted to her God. Violet would answer the phone, “Praise the Lord, Hello!” Or if you got her answering machine you would hear “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Leave your name and number and I will get back to you” She and her friends loved to go around town visiting, and doing missionary work.

Violet’s family will continue to remember Sunday morning’s ackee and saltfish breakfast with plantains and journey cakes! Along with so many more loving memories.

Violet is preceded in death by her sisters: Beryl Taylor, Hazel Armegon, Purlester Kelly, Myrtle Johnson and Brothers Harald, Ralph, Aldon & John Taylor.

She is survived by her dear husband, Herbert; two daughters, Judith Hutchinson and Sharon Davidson (Mark); Godson, Andre Noel. Sisters, Ophelia Wilson, Sylvia LeGendre, & Cynthia Harvey. Brothers, Keith & Oswald Taylor; 8 grandchildren, who lovingly know her as “Mommy Darling”. Tonia Quarterman (Marcus), Kyra Young, Shaheeda Daniels (Rayfield), Neal Young (Karen), Sheree Mendoza, Martin Hamilton Jr., Travis Patterson, Shantelle Sides (Michael); 11 beloved great grandchildren, hosts of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and close friends.

Services will be held Sunday, March 1st, 2015 at the North Orlando Seventh Day Adventist Church, with a Visitation from 10-11am, Funeral Service from 11am-1pm, procession to Woodlawn Memorial Park for entombment, followed by a repass back at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
