The former Robert J. Rogers was born in Fruitport Township, Muskegon County, Michigan on July 4, 1937, the son of Clyde and Mildred (King) Rogers. He married Kathleen Sullivan on December 10, 1965. Robert lived in Muskegon where he worked as an upholsterer at Shaw-Walker for his entire career. Once retired, he relocated to Altamonte Springs, Florida, then to Ocala, Florida to be near his remaining family. Robert was an avid bowler, taking every opportunity to enjoy his favorite sport. As a retiree, he bowled, in his words, “every day that ends in Y”. Our Uncle Robert will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his nieces Dawn, Sherri, Pamela & Kelly, and nephews PJ, Brian & James; and multiple great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Kathleen, brother, Charles “Chuck”, sister, Charlotte and brother, Oliver “Ollie”.
On Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 3pm, family and friends will gather at AMF Galaxy Lanes East in Ocala for a farewell game to honor Robert's life and his love of bowling.
