Margaret “Peggy” Bone, 88, died Thursday, November 1 surrounded by family after a long illness. Peggy was born on August 24, 1924 in Statesville, NC. She was raised there and later attended Duke University where she met her future husband Dr. Frank Bone. She and Frank were married in 1946 and were devoted to each other and their two children for their 66 years together. In 1950 Peggy and Frank moved to Orlando where Frank set up his medical practice. Peggy was committed to her community and served on a voluntary basis in many clubs and civic organizations including the Junior League of Orlando, Orlando Regional Medical Center Nursing Auxiliary, the Rosalind Club, the Antiquarian Society and many book clubs. She and Frank were also deeply committed to their church, the First Methodist Church of Orlando where they members of the Nu Class. Peggy and Frank were also members of the Country Club of Orlando.
Peggy was preceded in death by Frank who passed away in late July. She is survived by her two sons, Chip and Michael and her three grandchildren Katie, Skip and Grady.
A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church on Jackson Street at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 13. Arrangements entrusted to Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Gotha, FL. Condolences may be offered at www.woodlawnfuneralhomegotha.com.
