Manuel Olegario Lopez Alvarez

Manuel Olegario López Álvarez, 93, was granted peace by our Lord Jesus Christ on July 1st, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Manuel was born in Camaguey, Cuba on March 6, 1931 to Maria Álvarez and Manuel B. López. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and devout follower of Christ. He married his soulmate Aida C. Ramos in 1954 and welcomed their one beautiful daughter, Aida M. Pérez López in 1955.

Manuel Served in the Cuban military until he immigrated to the United States. A pillar in the Cuban community in Orlando, Manuel helped many families flee communist Cuba in the 1960s to begin living the American dream.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Aida C. López, his daughter, Aida M. Pérez López, his son-in-law Mario J. Pérez, his grandchildren Mario M. Pérez, Julia Pérez, Alina Rodríguez Pérez, Samuel Rodríguez, and his 4 great-grandchildren (Isaiah Pérez, Natalie Pérez, Isabella Rodríguez, Samuel L. Rodríguez) whom he adored with all his heart. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to God.

A visitation for Manuel will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A celebration of life service will occur Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. An interment will occur Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
