Lawrence Aaron Jones, later transformed himself and assumed the name KYNG, was a young evolving Artist who died tragically on January 18, 2022, in Orlando Florida at the age of 30. In his short life span of only one score and ten, KYNG epitomized his new name and left his family and friends with a reminder and memento of his indelible character.
He was born to parents Lawrence Campfield and Cassaundra Jones on July 26, 1991 in Harlem, New York City and grew up with his Grandmother Lil Bit.
At the beginning of his manhood, he was blessed with his first son Lawrence “LJ” (age 13), two deceased sons from a previous marriage that he loved dearly, KYNG later relocated to Florida and married the love of his life Dannielle in 2016 who gave him two more sons Aaron (5yrs) and Zayne (3yrs).
KYNG was a kind soul who saw his family as his world. Never hesitated to throw himself in every aspect of their life.
His hands had great agility and photography and film making became his life work. Every picture he took had a meaning that touched the soul. He had great plans and was looking forward to traveling the country and mountain sides to capture great pictures for National Geographic while his wife took on nationwide Travel Nursing assignments. Seattle WA would have been their next stop, having completed Boston MA in a snowy breeze.
He was the avid outdoorsman. I for one, didn’t know that one needed a license to engage in Florida wildlife but he had all his necessary license and membership and was looking forward to raising his sons to be able to swim, fish and bring home the “bacon”.
Hearing the word bacon, KYNG was a top chef in the kitchen. He was able to cook any meal from his favorite steaks to his fluffy milk pancakes from scratch – yes! You heard right, not from the box as many of us do. He provided creative and daily menus for his family and I sometimes was a partaker of those scrumptious meals.
Anyone that truly knew KYNG, knew he had such a big heart. A heart of a superhero just like the ones we all read about in comics and watched in action movies. To the world superheroes are fictitious and KYNG was just a man, but to us he was a true hero, a KYNG of a character, our shining armor with extraordinary traits, our BATMAN who was exceptionally skillful and did everything with excellence and glee. He was energetic, promising and full of life.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delighteth in his ways. (Psa 37:23)
His memories we will cherish forever.
