John Derrick Threadgill aged 46, of Orlando, Florida died on September 14, 2018. He was born on April 5, 1972 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital to Fred and Ann Threadgill. He was a true Florida native. John was raised in Altamonte Springs at which time he attended Lymon High School before he went on to West Orange High School. He later resided in Winter Garden with his wife and children.
John's career was as a telecommunications technician at Walt Disney World, where he worked for over 20 years. He started in the water craft department, where he piloted vessels including the giant paddle wheel boats in Bay Lakes. He went on to work with Smart City, where he was the team leader of convention support specialists.
John loved to play baseball and was the pitcher for his team in Little League. He also enjoyed surfing and other water sports in his youth. He was an avid scuba diver and especially loved cave diving. Later he spent his time fishing and relaxing with his family. His true pride and joy of his life were his children Samantha and Jake.
John is survived by Valerie Threadgill, his children Samantha and Jake Threadgill, parents Fred and Ann Threadgill, his sister Deidra Carnesilla, nieces Kailey and Taylor La Torre and by his great nephew Landon La Torre.
A graveside service for John will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
