Fred Allen Powers

Fred Allen Powers, 84, of Winter Garden, FL, passed away on May 30, 2024. He was born in Elk Creek, Ohio on November 8, 1939. Fred was a beloved painting contractor, known as "Fast Freddy" in his profession.

Fred was a devoted member of the Orlando Free Presbyterian Church, where he found solace and community in his faith. He loved the Lord and was actively involved in his church, sharing his faith with everyone he encountered.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Powers, his son David Powers, daughters Carroll Phelps (Alex), Sherri Koons, Toni Elkins (Mark), Julie Nunziato (David), Stephanie Ickes (Justin), and Christina Fitzpatrick (Matthew), as well as 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and siblings Eddie, Louise, Lucille, and Joseph. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mabel Powers, as well as his 8 siblings Charles, Eugene, James, Juanita, Cecil, Ralph, Doris, and Robert.

A service to honor Fred's life will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Gotha, FL, on Friday, June 7, 2024. The viewing will take place from 12-1pm, followed by the funeral service at 1pm.

Fred will be remembered for his unwavering faith, warm smile, and dedication to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
