Doris Johnson was born on August 28, 1928 in Overton, Alabama as Doris Belle Hogg. She passed away at 95 years young.
Doris worked for the telephone company as a long distance telephone operator until she met and married Travis Johnson in 1951 until he passed in 2019.
In 1959 the US Navy moved them to Florida where she would spend the next 62 years.
Doris was a seamstress for fun, loved doing crafts with her granddaughters, and was an avid reader.
She was an avid fan of University of Alabama football and life stopped on Saturday afternoon so she could cheer on the team she loved so much.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Rumbaugh; son in law, Steve Rumbaugh; granddaughters, Andrea Leinfelder and Amy Rumbaugh, and great grandson Brady.
A graveside service for Doris will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
