Bhagwandai "Mona" Persaud

Bhagwandai Persaud, Known as Mona of Enterprise, Leguan, Guyana, passed away on September 23rd,2023 at the age of 88 years old in Clermont, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Budhu Sowdagar and Sanichare of Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara, Guyana.

Her early years she worked with her parents who were farmers, working the rice fields in Leguan, Guyana. She came to the USA at the age of 53 years old, to give her children the opportunities that she didn’t have when she was growing up. She lived in Brooklyn, NY where she spent a few years working at a clothing factory. But for most of her life she was a homemaker.

She spent the last 12 years living in Minneola, Florida.

She is survived by her 4 children: Nalini, Indira, Omesh, and Navin and her 8 grandchildren: Brandon, Marvin, Shane, Heidi, Alana, Anjali, Nicole and Devin and her 2 honorary grandchildren : Mark and Kristopher. She is also survived by her 3 great grand kids: Darren, Aniya, and Jayden along with her daughter in law Anie and son in laws Harry and Rohan.

She was a loving, caring, and kind mother, grandmother, cousin, niece, aunt, sister in law, and friend. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Mona will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 2, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A witness cremation will occur Monday, October 2, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Woodlawn Crematory, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
