Bill's life was shaped by his love of the land, animals, and hard work. Growing up on ranches, he developed a deep connection to livestock and the cowboy way of life. He spent many years driving cattle trucks, followed by several years working for petroleum trucking companies. Despite transitioning into different careers, his passion for horses and livestock never waned, and he remained close to his roots until his passing.
In his younger years, Bill was known for his competitive spirit in rodeo arenas, where he earned a reputation as a true cowboy. His love for the outdoors extended beyond his ranching days; Bill was also an avid fisherman and could often be found on his bass boat, enjoying time on the water.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Judy Blakeman; daughters Layce Villegas and Bonnie Jones; son Travis Blakeman; six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Isaac, Dallas, Shawnee, Daniel, and Morgan; and six great-grandchildren: Angelo, Mia, Uriah, Brody, and Aurora. He was preceded in death by his son, William Blakeman Jr., daughter Rusty Lynn, sisters Jeanne Schult and Peggy Jo, and both of his parents.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service will begin at 6pm.
Bill will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, and his commitment to the cowboy way of life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
