On February 26, 2018 Tony Murillo Bojorquez passed away. Tony’s signature quick wit and temperance made him a model member to his community. His greatest impact was his loving and benevolent nature as a husband, father and grandfather.
Tony was born on April 15, 1946 to Ramon and Amelia Bojorquez, the second of three children. He graduated from Carl Hayden High School and went on to attend Phoenix College. After serving in the US Army from 1968 to 1972, he returned home to begin his family and career in social services. His 29 year career representing the City of Phoenix was a source of pride and satisfaction for him. Tony was a quiet, caring honest man who lived for his family. All of his “girls” were the apples of his eyes. His “boys” were the strength of his heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife Linda, his children Suzie (Rick), Tony (Maria), Tom (Brittany), Josh (Angelica), and his darling Miranda. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren all of whom were the reason he fought for so long to be an active, loving part of their life. He is also survived by his loving sister Mary Manquero. His nieces and nephews were close in his heart and loved deeply. He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother John Bojorquez. We have lost a truly beautiful person who filled our lives with an abundance of love one can only imagine. He was the best and he was ours.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338. Burial will be at 9:00 am, Friday, March 9, 2018 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
