Tony Eakin

Tony Eakin, 57, of Tolleson, Arizona, died on August 11, 2013.  Tony was born the second of five children to James and Pauline Eakin on August 29, 1955 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He graduated from Parkersburg High School and later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio were he began his career in the insurance industry. He spent the next several years working for a Doctor’s office before joining Cigna Health Group as a claims processor. In 1997, Tony transferred to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked until suffering spinal complications that required him to undergo four separate back surgeries in 2011. "Uncle Tony" never missed a soccer game traveling to many different states to watch his niece and nephew play and spend time with family and friends. He had a positive influence on everyone he met and was a dear friend to all that knew him.  He is survived by his sisters Dottie Jordan of Surprise, AZ, Kim Mathess of Parkersburg, WV, Tammy Jones of Goodyear, AZ, and Charlotte Brookhart of Vincent, OH.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Funeral services will be held at 7pm on Friday, August 16th at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S.
