Robert A. Atkinson, 75, of Goodyear, died February 27, 2013. He was born on April 2, 1937 in Chittenango, New York. He was the last of five children adopted by Bessie and Arthur Atkinson as a baby. He moved to the Phoenix area in 1960 and met and married Donna Jackson of whom he is survived. He is also survived by four daughters, Georgia, Sheri, Lori, and Melissa; and five grandchildren. He spent 33 years working for Safeway Stores and was retired in 2000 after a heart attack. Private family services were held. Condolences can be sent to www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
