Remedios (Remy) Loberiano Galera, age 74 of Goodyear, AZ died March 17, 2019, in Goodyear, AZ. She was born September 30, 1944, in Calbayog City, Philippines to Pastor and Epepañia Loberiano. Remedios moved the US in 1963 and made her home in Northern California. As a single mother of three children, she showed her dedication through hard work. She would work during the day and attend school at night, taking her children with her to play in the back of the classroom while she learned.
Remedios loved to be the center of attention. Whether it was from the sound of her voice or the bright colors of her clothing, you knew when she entered a room. Stubborn and independent, she knew what she wanted in life and when she wanted it. She was an amazing cook, often spending time in the kitchen to create the dishes for her family to enjoy. A fan of all music, she especially liked country, often times singing along to the radio. She loved life and was so happy to have moved to Arizona to be closer to her children and grandchildren. They could do no wrong in her eyes and she was proud of all of their accomplishments.
Remedios is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gilberto Bersamin Galera; daughters, Minda Garcia and husband, Mac, Sharon Gonzales and husband, Emilio; son, William (Bill) Sweeney and wife, Angelic; grandsons, David Garcia and wife, Melinda, Daniel Garcia, and Gilbert Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Keanu and Felinia Garcia; and sister, Deling Madamba.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear 85338.
