Robert Gregory Ratto, age 72 of Goodyear, AZ died April 22, 2019 in Goodyear. He was born December 16, 1946 in San Francisco, CA to Eugene and Jean (Henderson) Ratto. Charming, sincere, and genuine, Greg naturally attracted people to him. His sense of humor and easy-going style allowed you to feel comfortable in his presence. You could talk to Greg about anything without feeling fearful or embarrassed. He had a heart of gold and joyfully shared his love of life with those around him.
Greg loved cars. As a young man, he and his buddy were cruising the streets of Santa Rosa, CA in his family’s new T-Bird. They met a young woman named Karen and her friend who were also out cruising the strip. Karen was charmed. Their friendship grew into a beautiful marriage with four wonderful children and eleven fantastic grandchildren.
Greg’s children will tell you he was one of the best dads ever! He was their biggest cheerleader and always had their back. His love and support got them through some very hard times and helped them do hard things. His support never wavered for his grandchildren and he was always there to watch them in any activity they were involved in.
Greg liked to cook. He enjoyed playing chess and dominoes with Robert. He liked going out to dinner and hitting the casino. And he loved his Corvettes and Fast Glass Corvette Club.
Greg is survived by his wife, Karen Jean Ratto; daughter, Farrah Beelman (Greg); sons, Brian Ratto, Nicholas Ratto (Tiffany), and Jordan Ratto (Montara) & (Tammie Easterly); brother, Kenneth Ratto (Christy); and eleven grandchildren, Matt, Austin, Jarah, Taylor, Robert, Giordano, Dayton, Samantha, Rachel, Megan, and Amanda.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338.
